Jimi Taiwo, Head of Category and Channel Marketing Nigeria

I joined PZ Cussons Nigeria in 2006 as a Group Brand Manager in what, in retrospect, I can now describe as one of the best decisions in my career yet.

I was first interested in the deep heritage of PZ Cussons in Nigeria which transcends 100 years; and I have now been equally captivated with the organisation’s CANDO values, culture and brands, but above all, the greatest attraction are the people.

Most of my career in PZ Cussons has been spent in core consumer marketing in the emerging Nigerian market and a recent international assignment in Australia/New Zealand for further my career development. I have been greatly involved in strategy, brand building and development, product and packaging innovation, consumer-focused category development and a world class business planning process.

PZ Cussons is home and a way of life for me. I have worked alongside a very high level crop of professionals across key markets – Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, UK, Australia and New Zealand, and also on great iconic brands many of which are category leaders. Wherever I have worked and whatever the experience, PZ Cussons has been one big family, and I am enjoying every moment of my time here.

In my new role as Head of Category and Channel Marketing, I am helping build a strong and resourceful team in Nigeria, and enjoying the opportunity to share skills and experiences with colleagues and upcoming talents.
