Jules Heptonstall, St Tropez International

My career with PZ Cussons Beauty began from the merger of St. Tropez into the PZ division – so essentially I’ve been here since Day 1! At St. Tropez I started as a brand intern working across PR, Online and Product Development teams.

After the merger, I became PR Executive for St. Tropez, Charles Worthington and Sanctuary Spa for a short while before moving into the role of Artist Liaison and St. Tropez Tanning and Skin Finishing Expert.
My career literally began in tanning – I started out spray tanning and enjoyed giving clients treatments and testing products, then by chance landed the position of the spray tanner on The X Factor in 2011.

From there, my career grew – I quickly built relationships with celebrities, key make-up artists, VIP bookers and agents. I moved away from PR and into Artist Relations where I train make-up artists in using St. Tropez and ensure the brand is used backstage – be it at fashion shows, in television, theatre, on photo-shoots and on the pages of magazines through my quotes and interviews.

I’m now one of the world’s leading experts in self tan. My current projects include London Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, Strictly Come Dancing, BBC Radio 1 appearances. I write a column for The Mirror online, and make guest appearances on QVC – and there’s plenty of photo shoots and online activity under my belt.
As St. Tropez internationalises as a brand, I have the wonderful perk of globe trotting – visiting markets and presenting to press the latest trends from the catwalk and product innovations. I’m also lucky enough to work with some of the world’s leading celebrities, working closely with them to ensure they wear St. Tropez for public appearances, red carpets, roles in television and help elevate the brand into a premium and professional sector.
