Job Purpose:

The Logistic Business Partner leads a team who are experts in import and export activities and best practices within the UK Business.  Ensuring all outbound and inbound logistics are cost effective, timely and meet the customer and business needs. Facilitating, communicating and providing transparency of the movement of product to support PZUK and other BUs sales opportunities across multiple teams.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead a team who are responsible for delivering cost effective and timely and import and export.

  • Developing the team to be industry experts.

  • Identify opportunities and implement margin improvement initiatives by reviewing load optimisation, freight costs, other logistics opps

  • Responsible for verifying and challenging where necessary invoices and costs with Great Bear, Dachser, other logistic related costs

  • Assist other areas of the business on VAT, Legal and customs paperwork queries relating to the movement of product

  • Manage the Dachser 3PL relationship and contract

  • Key Supply Chain business partner for the IGM business unit. Develop positive working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders to assist in achieving objectives. 

  • Communicate effectively across the business any necessary updates on logistics timings/new set up of works in Dachser/legislation/paperwork requirements so expectations can be managed.

  • Support and cover for Senior Logistics Manager

  • Forwards looking. Typically planning from weeks to a few months ahead, ensuring delivery of agreed objectives in line with commercial requirements. 

  • May manage or assist with small projects under guidance ensuring delivery of project outputs in line with specified objectives. 

  • Ensure own compliance with appropriate standards, policies and regulations, and the identification and management of risks in own area, escalating where appropriate. 

  • Identify opportunities to deliver continuous improvement in own area to enhance the supply chain. 

  • Ensure knowledge of regulations, policies and procedures in own area is up to date and be able to apply these quickly to different situations. 

  •  Keep abreast of any changes and ensure PZ are compliant.

Indicative Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Technical or vocational qualification relevant to the role, or equivalent relevant work experience.

  • Ability to support others by sharing technical knowledge and providing advice. 

  • Consumer and market awareness relevant to own specific area of business. 

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and colleagues 

  • Strategic thinking: Ability to identify and mitigate risks and take advantage of any opportunities. 

  • Ability to manage and plan own workload to deadlines, including handling conflicting and changing priorities.
